My question with these is always are the smart home compatible. In other words if you plug them into a smart plug while they automatically turn on when the smart plug turns on? Most new electro heating pads over the last five years have had this feature, but I don't see it listed here.

The blanket doesn't turn back on because it doesn't have a real on/off switch. The button you press just tells a small computer inside to start heating. When the power is cut, that computer shuts off completely. When the power comes back, it starts fresh in the off state and waits for you to press the button again. It's designed this way so it cannot turn itself on automatically because electric blankets are a fire risk.

Thanks for your reply saucy but I don't think you understood my original post. Turns out that many newer blankets actually DO boot up the "computer" when they recieve power to the last heat setting. My pad does this at home that I have plugged into a smart plug. Evidently it meets all current electric code because it's a fairly common feature.

My Biddeford is like this I have it on a Kasa smart energy use plug and have to hit button still to turn on.
