I change my oil once a year. I only put about 1000 miles. No reason for me to 6 month intervals.

Yup. Unless you're driving in the Sahara. Or redlining the engine constantly, synthetic will last you at least 1 year and 7500+ miles.

really good price for a solid quality oil

but once you go R&P, you'll never want to go back. it eliminated the oil consumption issues with both the K24 and 2AR-FE we have. don't take my word for it, it officially has the stamp of approval from the MOG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M1HAJdhyYs

no matter what full synthetic you use though, stick with a 6mo/5K interval and your engine will thank you. they need to stop with this "up to 10,000 mile" nonsense

We need to consolidate the Castro threads or there will be one for reach for each oil weight

Ok, it's anecdotal but I never ever heard of anyone busted an engine due to 10k or annual (which ever come 1st) change but I don't run a fleet either so I'm open to accepting good data.

This has already been busted with people getting their oil tested at blackstone labs. Unless you're tracking your car id just stick to who's recommended . There's plenty of data to back 10k oil changes.

That's risky. 3k or 3months is much better

I will agree but why? And....

If someone thumbs down they should at least explain why your comment isn't true.
