This is a lot of bang for your buck, all things considered. Can anyone speak to the build quality of this machine? I'm considering it, but I'd like to know how good (or not) the screen is at only 300-nits and if the keyboard backlight is decent. The overall specs are quite good.

I remember one person commenting about the cosmetic condition of their refurb/acer/ebay unit... some scuffs and such that he didn't like and so he returned his. This deal has been posted in one form or another a few times so there are other threads that are probably worth sifting through to see the comments!

You know if you had to buy the ram by itself it would cost you $300 to $500 alone lol

Giving this a go, seems like the reviews are solid even for the refurbished models (some outliers of course but willing to take a chance). For the specs this looks awesome with the screen being the biggest complaint but I'll be using this docked either way

Just ordered one, let's see how it comes out. Not sure if it has fingerprint reader or not, but it is checking rest of the boxes for me, light weight, oled, backlit keyboard, 14", 1tb hdd, 32 gb ram (16 could have worked ), only other thing is 300 nits screen

Since you can't take the RAM out and sell it, and almost all modern laptops have it soldered or part of the CPU package, does it really have a value?
Sort of like buying a used car for $10K but the dealer would charge you $8K if you wanted to buy a new engine, does that make the $10K car a terrific deal? Depends on the rest of the car...
