There are two sources for cinnamon; this product does not list the source. Ceylon Cinnamon, the true cinnamon; primarily grown in Sri Lanka and parts of India, is safe to consume in most quantities, while other varieties, like Cassia are grown in Indonesia, China, and Vietnam, contain coumarin. Coumarin can cause liver damage in different doses based on age.

This is 100% Cassia variety. I doubt Amzn would sell Ceylon for less than $1. Unless you plan to take teaspoons of Cassia cinnamon on a daily basis for months then yea, it's probably not economical or not a healthy choice. However, most people use it sparingly in baking, which is fine.
