I was in the same boat as you a couple yrs ago. I was set on synology until things with them started to not look so great. After a ton of reading and watching videos again I took a chance on the DXP4800+. I like it so far, 3x10TB HGST drives and it runs fine. Aside from better hardware the fact that I can run another OS sold me. Check out nas compares on you tube,
