Been watching for a good gas washer for a while. And with planning to use it more than just an occasional car/sidewalk/siding wash, I'm planning to look for a more pricier unit with Honda motor and good pump (Cat, General, Udor). Buy once/cry once IMO

Last fall I bought the CRX210 for $191, delivered. If only I had a Time Machine.....
Not sure if the CRX 165 Engine is worth buying - and driving 30 minutes to pick it up for $219 + Tax
I have it ship to my house for $12 extra because I don't want to drive 30 miles to pick it up.

It looks like the price went up $20 for the CRX165 (61471) - for those still interested

Of course, this won't be nearly as good as a Simpson that has a Honda engine and a Triplex pump, but it's an incredible value. I went to the site and it didn't even tell me the manufacturer of the pump, so there's that. Great deal though.

I know there's a lot of opinions about types of pumps and engines.... What's everyone's thoughts on this particular model?
i have a machine with the same engine
the problem with this one is heat soak /vapor lock

after been using it if you turn it off it is hard to start until its cools off a little

what I did was I insulated the fuel line with exhaust wrap because that is above the engine
and it is better now
you can call it vapor lock

otherwise its fine no issue

Looks like the 210 is not available anywhere near me and no shipping. Probably get the 165.
What are you guys using for soap application?

If you want a Honda small engine pressure washer you need to buy sooner rather than later. In 2023 you could find them for $299-$750 depending on engine type. Those same washers are now $550-$1500 since they seem to not be making as many anymore.

Looks like a good price. In my past experience, I rarely got more than two seasons out of any axial drive pump before finally going all in with a triplex pump- but still this looks slick.
Did you ever lube the pump?

Fair question (not sure why you were downvoted): yes, serviced it and also winterized it before storing.

I bought this a few years ago for even more than this price and use it mainly to pressure wash my driveway. I use it with a 15" surface cleaner and it does an amazing job. I tried it with a electric ryobi the prior year and it took me like 2 hours. I did the entire two car driveway, sidewalk, and even down to the gutter in like 30 minutes. I never had any issues with it starting back up.
A few tips, I always mix gas with Stabil even if I think I will be using the entire tank. It never does though and I suggest if you have a small space to wash, put in only 1/4 tank of gas because it's very fuel efficient. Secondly, after every use, I drain the gas out of the bowl. Lastly, I always spray lubricant into the motor after every use. These steps should keep your carbs from gumming up and the motor from siezing.

Thank you. Winterizing it's enough. You really needed to lube the pump after every use to make it last, or at least spray some fogging oil in the intake.

FYI, I use the classic site version, so I don't ever see comment votes. It's the best way, especially since the votes are meaningless. Smilie

Simpson Pressure washer w/ CRX165 (61471) is GREAT for the money! I bought one last Monday for $269 4 days later it went of further sale for $219. I went to store and they refunded me $53 difference in less than 3 minutes. I used this pressure washer for 10+ hours over the weekend and it has already paid for itself. The motor starts very easy hot or cold and the CRX165 has plenty of power for the pump. It is also very good on gas (i got around 3 hours per tank of fuel). AMAZING deal for $219!!!
Pricing is varies based on store. I have two stores 10 mile away in either direction one store has it for $219 the other $239

Went to pickup my CRX 210. They wheeled out the CRX 165. I was able to make the person understand there are two models with "3100 PSI" labeled and she was very amiable.

Please note: on the CRX 165 (red label), it actually says "CRX 165" on the box's description. However, for the 'CRX 210' (gray label) version, it actually says, on the label: "CRX 208". I had to wait... maybe three weeks for the delivery to my local store, but it seems they've changed the engine from an actual 210 cc to one that is 208 cc, but the TS SKU number still correlates to the 'CRX 210" model.
