One thing to be aware of: it's not mentioned in the amazon page or the marketing material, not even the manual, but the grill comes with a pamphlet clarifying that if you want to have it on electric mode you need a 20A circuit (though the connector is a regular 15A one).

Thank you. That makes it a no go for me. I was excited thinking it was gas and charcoal.

According to what I found, the grill runs at 1750W that is 14.6amps. Very close to the 15amp limit of a 15 amp breaker. If you have anything else on that circuit, it will likely pop the breaker. Or using it in high for an extended period of time.

That makes no sense. Why 20A circuit with a 15A connector?
Also, how do I know if I have a 20A circuit?

Edit: To find out what the amperage is, check the breakers. The handle will say what amperage it is. If it's not properly labeled where the circuit goes, you can plug in a light or something and flip the breakers one by one to figure out which one it is. Hope that helps.

If it's done properly it will have a 20amp breaker, the correct wire gauge and a 20 amp recepticle which has the little - on the one prong.

So the 20A recepticle or connector will have one of the flat prongs is 90 degree compared to the other one. However, your 15A plug can be connected to a 20A circuit, and Mike above mentioned it draws 14.6A so that's probably why the grill has a 15A plug.

It needs 20A circuit so it doesn't trip it, but uses 15A plug because it's drawing supposedly less than 15A.

Also, thanks Austin for pointing out the plug difference!

Edit: Also just found out why it needs 20A circuit. Apparently you should only load it to 80%, so that's 16A. A 15A circuit should only be used at 12A max.

There is a QVC video showing that you can run the grill 10 mins to light the charcoal and then shut the grill off. I like to cook somethings over charcoal but I definitely don't like how long it takes to get it going.

Any have any experience/thoughts on how good this might be?

10 minutes is long? That's how long a chimney starter takes and about as long as preheating an oven

So I just realized my builder didn't install a 20A connector on my outdoor plug, but my breaker is 20A for it.Do I need to install a 20A outlet before I can use this or should I be good to go?

This has been my favorite grill I have ever owned. Coming from pellet grills, Webber kettles and propane, this has by far been my favorite. With charcoal this grill gets to 1000+ degrees, and without, just electric gets to 650. Love it!

also, can double as a very accurate smoker, just light up a pellet tube, set inside and set thermostat to 1 and it will hold 200° for days!

Anyone have any suggestions on what to get, install or put on to keep this grill clean or easier to clean?

First time owning a grill and they all seem really messy in general.
