From what I've seen, $130 for a DeWalt is an awful deal when Ridgid is better at a lower price point when on sale. For $70, I think this could be worth it just because it's a good bit cheaper?
regarding the ear protection, project farm and some reviews are saying it's 82 db and OSHA claims 85 db is when you should wear hearing protection (but also distance to the vacuum matters). So it's up to you if you want to prioritize how loud it is. I don't wear hearing protection with the Ridgid and if you need to do something quick and not extended use, hearing protection isn't required.
