Very usable unless you explicitly have an application that is unsupported for Windows on ARM. For the right user, particularly those who primarily work within a browser and/or Microsoft productivity applications, the ARM-based systems could be killer devices when well discounted. Admittedly, most discounts on Windows ARM machines have typically gotten the devices down to what should have been their original MSRP. The latest round of Windows on ARM devices were typically targeting premium buyers so a lot of the release pricing was optimistic on the part of the vendors.

However, this slickdeal model in particular brings a crazily premium OLED display down to a preposterous price point. The lack of touchscreen functionality is a disappointment, but otherwise this laptop could be a killer device for media consumption and other light-duty tasks. Personally I've only seen discounted OLED-equipped Windows laptops in the $800-1000 range until now.

If there's one consideration beyond the lack of touchscreen functionality, it would be that the long-life battery benefits of an ARM-based platform are likely offset by the power demands of the OLED screen. I'd recommend scrutinizing reviews of this model, but personally I'm such an OLED fanboy that I'd gladly trade battery life for the beauty of the screen.

Good luck!

The Snapdragon processors are far superior to Intel / AMD, especially when running off battery power. I am actually typing this on the exact computer in this post. I have the Intel i7 version also of this same 16 inch Omnibook and the Snapdragon has much better performance and battery life. I also have a Lenovo 16 inch with the latest Ryzen 7 AI chip and the performance is even worse than the Intel.

I have the exact model in this post and the processor is very fast even though it is not the Elite model. It is much faster than the latest Intel i7 and Ryzen 7 AI chips which I have in other computers.

That was my question as well. Because it says "on board" that makes me think it's soldered on. Which makes this a non start for me. The manual would say for sure.

On-board is exactly what it sounds like. Any memory that is labeled LPDDR5X is soldered on (unless it specifically says CAMM, which very few laptops use and the ones that do are very expensive). The majority of laptops use soldered RAM so if it's a "non start" for you , you better start looking at much more expensive workstation laptops (Lenovo, for example) or gaming laptops for memory slots.
