$900 for a gaming console is actual f*cking INSANITY...
ATARI 2600 sold for $199 in 1977 which is equivalent of around $1,000 in today's dollars.

Exactly. Sony hasn't even officially announced PS6 yet. Rumors are that we are looking at 2027 at the earliest. If so, that would make the PS5 7 years old before the next generation releases.

I'm not counting half-steps like the PS5 Pro. Those are for enthusiast that don't care about the cost. The overwhelming majority of gamers stick with the base system.

Damn I was hoping it'll be $299 by now instead of going the opposite direction.

I'm rocking a PS4 Pro and have no plans upgrading until PS6.
PS5 game lineup years since released has been abysmal compared to previous generations.

Should be a lesson somewhere in there.

For anyone thinking of upgrading from original ps5 disc to slim disc - apparently the slim uses the same amount of power as original according to tom's hardware.

That was my major reason for upgrading. Maybe worth it in electricity savings but nope!

Can't believe ps5 console is retaining value over these years thanks to AI data centers smh

I bought a launch disk version when god of war Ragnarok was announced. Bought 5 other games which I never finished (except elder ring) and it's been collecting dust ever since.

The only game I want to play is GTA6 but I feel like it's going to run like arse if not on the pro. I'm tempted to buy pro, sell the base but I know it will collect dust too after GTA6.

The real deals here are the PlayStation Fortnite bundles which are $100 less than other pricing and $200 less than they'll be on the 2nd. Wanted to make the thread so anyone on the fence about purchasing had time to before the price increases next week.
I was able to sell my fortnote code for $30 on ebay so theres another discount if you don't want the cosmetics or don't play the game.

Last time I sold a digital code on ebay I literally shipped an un-scatched off code in the box and the buyer said it didn't work and ebay refunded them the $50. That was in 2018 and was the last time I ever sold something on ebay :|

that's pretty lame, I guess I got lucky, that and the bundle being $300 in December just in time for my fantasy football winnings.

Im always wary of people saying they got or can get their money back by selling a part on ebay to recoup the costs to make the deal look better.

For west coasters, the Flowering bundles still might be inside the RcWilley stores for online pickup or shipping.
