Any way of making this deal even more slick by getting the tool only for even less? I don't necessarily need the batteries or charger, and the budget for more tools is tight. The "tool only" option on HD website is $249, which is lame.

Don't forget to register for the lifetime warranty. They've replaced two batteries and my old brushed impact driver with the brushless.

If you mean the return bonus item 'hack', then no.

Here the batteries and Impact are being sold as a kit, and on the receipt will appear as one purchase.

The return hack only works with the bonus item deals, they look like this https://i.imgur.com/Ss364an.jpeg
The items are listed separately on the receipt, and allow for a partial refund upon return of one of the items.

PSA: some people have apparently had their address banned from Home Depot online orders after doing the return hack.

$179 is as low as i've seen it prior to this deal. keep in mind that this is a big boy impact and if you go trying to tighten smaller things on full power you could have a very bad day. the compact 3/8 and 1/2 impacts are on sale together for $179 as well, with those 3 tools you can get most anything done. i keep waiting for a deal to come around on the mid torque but so far i'm long on wait and short on deals.

When registering a cordless power tool with Ridgid, what is the category? I just went through all of them and non cover cordless power tools.

PC offers nothing. The app does list, but it sends me to the website. Then I can't even login through my phone when that happens, won't recognize my password on my phone. I can logout login on PC. Really weird

Go to this website https://register.ridgidpower.com to register power tools NOT ridgid.com.
But I would just call within the 90 day period to get the tools registered because their website sucks.
