API was acquired by the Klipsch Group in 2006 and Mirage and Athena Technologies were soon eliminated. (Klipsch Group also acquired Jamo at this time.) Energy and Jamo were acquired by Rayleigh Labs ( established in 2017 in Shenzhen, China) in late 2024.
These have been the best speakers I've owned, and they really are good any everything. All music types, HT works great, dedicated stereo with or without a sub, records, lossless hifi, etc.
The best thing about this speaker line is the great detail you get but without fatigue. They have a warmer sound that never gets tiring, and use their full range to represent detail well.
I have much more expensive setups since my original purchase, but I still use the RC-70s in my nicer stereo system, also paired with Marantz.

Wondering if it's worth the $800.

Why would you do that, the CF1 sound warmer. Very nice sound but the CF1 were a lot more expensive than these basic Energy speakers. I have a room with in-wall THX Ultra2, almost twenty years and I still don't have the urge to replace them.
At one moment I had 6.5" Energy Veritas and Klipsch RP62, and I kept the Energy. They sound identical to me.
Wondering if it's worth the $800.
IMO, if I had a plan for my old setup (another room, give to family, sell locally), then I'd be inclined to spend the $800 on the Energy upgrade. Of course, I'm biased because I already have the RC-70s and people tend to agree with themselves when given the opportunity.
It's probably a wash so I haven't rushed.
Just look at all the positive opinions on it!
Even some people in here say, towers are not needed when using a sub & just salesman/shills that just want to pocket a much bigger commission selling you pricier towers!

Also, which Primus center speaker do you have? The Primus C351 will be on par with this Energy set's center speaker, while the Primus PC250 would be a clear step down. So if you own the PC250 and have some complaints about dialogue clarity, that would be worth upgrading---by itself (ignore the usual "brand matching equals timbre matching equals life or death importance" sales pitch and audiophool dogma).
Keep in mind a decent center speaker starts at $400-500. Well worth it if movies/TV are your main usage because it's the CENTER that actually carries 60-80% of the HT output not the front L/R.
Salesmen/shills will protest vehemently of course, since they pocket a much bigger commission from selling you the pricier towers, lol

Not to mention that Jamo set includes a sub & receiver for the same price!
Heck you could include that Energy Take package for $599.
All you need is an inexpensive receiver.
Price to performance ratio very likely better on both.
