I gave this a shot and the combat SUCKS it's just running around spamming little magic missiles basically and dodging. The story so far is just whatever not good but not terrible. If you do play it play it on easy it's one of those games where they just add more health to the harder modes and it's boring combat becomes way more glaring because of it.

You can tell the first commenter played a demo and that's it, while I platinum'd it. The combat is definitely more than shooting magic missiles and dodging. They'll realize this if they actually play the game. The story is mediocre, but the gameplay is good enough at this price.

And I'll add that, even though one arc of the protagonist's character building was tough to bear, I really liked the story. And I don't like most game stories. So YMMV.

i played the demo ....i sped through the storyline but the gameplay and graphics are good. not a bad game for $15.

This is not a world-class game. But this is a fun game that doesn't require a ton of commitment. The voice acting isn't my favorite, the story is really pretty good with a couple of crazy surprises. Yes, it's a bit uneven, but it also has some really fun mechanics and abilities. I bought it for about $12, a year ago, and it was completely worth that much money in return for the entertainment value it provided. I mean, I won't be playing through it again but enjoyed it for what it is!

I beat this game. It was actually fun. I think critics can just be mean somtimes. Definitely worth it at this price if you have nothing else in your gaming que.

I mean, even if it was free, of what value is your time? Every day your time is spent, leaves one less for you. With all the games out there, is it really worth it? Can you afford to spend your time on a critically panned game that was a complete failure commercially as well? Very very few people rated this well. There's good reason for that.

Yeah so you're arguing "it's totally an average game!" (though that is arguable) but there are plenty of similar priced games that show up in Steam sales and on this very site that are above average. Hell I just bought Jedi Survivor, RE3, Sons of the Forest, and Scorn for less. Recently I bought Atomic Heart and all expansions for I think $15? Squeenix needs to pull their heads of their butts and try to make a game actually fun to play instead of trying to hop on the bandwagon of the latest trend and not put any thought into the game above that (so they can save money). Either it was a turd on release that they tried boosting sales on, or it was a project they didn't want to devote much money to so they started with the idea, it's objectively not a good game to waste what precious little time you have on this Earth on. The last time I ignored critics was Shadow Labyrinth and that was time I'll never get back.
