$5 is a hard to pass price and $5-10 is a common sale price for all brands. Does this one require the base to recharge? The ones that recharge via separate USB are a bit more handy and flexible in their usage. Also, this one doesn't appear to have a bottom light. After using these with and without a light, it's hard to go back to one without a light. When you're cooking, these grinders are over over the food and create a shadow for where you're putting the grinds. Without a light, you can't see how much ends up on the food and when to stop grinding. For these reasons, I'm out.

owned something similar (ceramic burr) but not the same brand. Threw in the trash after a few weeks. The burr needs constant adjustment and didn't give consistence result. Replaced with ones that have stainless burr and never looked back.

Thought it was an electric grinder. Explains all my questions. Can't believe people would still buy manual grinders!! It's 2026 people!! Been using them for at least 10 years but the USB charging recently is the total game changer.

Are you using this for salt, or just pepper? Stainless steel isn't recommended for salt because of the potential for rust and corrosion.

Yeah I love our good quality manual grinders we got as a gift.

I'm a techie, but needing 3 AAA batteries or a charger to grind pepper is ridiculous. We're quite accomplished home cooks and make meals every night... never have I thought, I wish this pepper grinder was electric.

How much pepper are quite accomplished home cooks using these days that you would be replacing batteries that often?

Don't need more e-junk, unless you have mobility issues or need to grind with one hand, never seen a cheap electric grinder that does a good job. I think grinding salt and pepper at home regularly became a thing after these cheap disposable grinders are manufacturered and sold.

I think this is dead but reviews aren't good anyway as you'd expect for a grinder that costs $5-10. Complaints say the grinder may be ceramic but the parts holding it in place are plastic and they break quickly. The stainless steel has no function. Too bad the plastic parts inside weren't steel instead. I don't think you can find an actual quality ceramic grinder for less than $20-30.

E-junk? It's a rechargeable battery powered grinder. It's a game changer for the kitchen that the whole family loves. Use them multiple times throughout the day. Can switch it out to use for spices, cloves, coriander, etc. Charge it overnight once every 2-3 weeks. I've had my last one for over a year. I think people buy cheap electric grinders and assume all electric grinders are the same. Shame.

Right that was my main point, don't expect $10 rechargeable (OP's deal is manual yep I know) and expect it to last year like yours, that's the e-junk I am referring to.
