For about $100 more you can get one on a bracelet from Jomashop, if needed

Jomashop is decent but the reason they can offer lower prices is because it is an unsold stock that's been sitting in warehouses. If Joma didnt make any money on those they would not have had the businesss... Point being if they sell me a watch for $500 off... They bough it for at least $800-900 off manufacturer suggested retail price if not more. Risk is watch running too fast or too slow.. .warranty claims are a hassle with manuf. let alone with third party who will likely do nothing but replace it with another same unit... Which will not work as well as the first one
... I bought a watch via Joma and it is slightly running fast... How often I wear it (for a couple of days every few weeks), I don't care much to claim warranty now...

My advice is: save up and buy a watch you like from an authorized dealer with the full manufacturer warranty.

Yes, it makes sense! Mechanical watches require servicing every 5-6 years, regardless of whether they are in use or not.

"recommend servicing" ... but in reality, you can go much longer without servicing, like ... just wait till it 's not working , it's not a car.

True, but wouldn't that make it expensive if we need to replace any parts?

I don't want to be mean here and you didn't specify the type of watch you bought from Jomashop, but assuming it is a mechanical watch they all lose slight time as a standard. Now minutes per week should not happen in a high quality mechanical movement, but what you described could be something as simple as magnetization. The term "slightly" in your description leads me to believe there would be no warranty claim necessary, but a simple adjustment. This is common place on mechanical movements. It comes with the technology. If you want quartz accuracy buy a quartz watch there is nothing wrong with them many elite brands offer them. If you want a mechanical movement you should be aware of the risks, issues and maintenance schedules of a mechanical movement.
