If you look into this product, it can vibrate as well. I grew up with dogs and had one get hit and eventually die in the hospital it was extremely traumatizing for my family and especially the twin dog we had. Dad installed a fence to prevent this.

I also tend to think it is more cruel to house them in a kennel outside or have them tied to a tree as some people tend to do.

That does make me feel better about the product. I still get an ick though and would prefer people install an actual fence.

I agree with you, However in the Midwest theres tons of open land and people not living the in the suburb. It would be extremely cost prohibitive if you have over 1 acre of land to install a fence.
