No, it's a reputable brand. It's second to Wera, but not a knockoff.

No, Wiha is a quality, premium German brand.

it's a legacy german brand that has exported a lot of their manufacturing to Vietnam (and I think also Taiwan). The quality of the steel and fit and finish are still on the upper end. I'd say they have distinguished themselves more for their screwdrivers than for pliers, and they are well-regarded for their VDE offerings.

Good catch! It's astonishing how the age of fact checking is getting "gas-lighted" 😵 💫

I love tools like this, it's akin to tool jewelry.

With that being said, from a useful tool perspective it's not very useful.

Removing fasteners of this type and size doesn't work well with a ratchet handle. It's much easier/efficient to use a more conventional screwdriver type handle. If space is at a premium a "finger ratchet" would be a better choice.

Again, I'm not saying this is a bad tool, just the opposite. What I'm pointing out is it's not the most useful of tools.

They did this with the Gearwrench Serpentine Belt kit, too. It was 15% off, but now it's 21.5% off. The sales price is the same, they just bumped up the MSRP to make it look like a better deal than it really is. Really wish we could outlaw this sort of price manipulation.

These are great little kits, and IMO are a far better value than the Icon mini flexhead kits.

You can only be gas-lighted if you're too lazy to do proper research.

Why would anybody take MSRP seriously anymore? It has been irrelevant on most products for many years.

It's surprisingly handy. The magnetic bit extention works almost as well as a screwdriver. It works on tight fasteners that need a little more torque to break free. The high quality bits also fit well and don't damage fasteners as bad as cheap bits. I'm rather fond of the case and bit holders. It's rather compact I keep it in a kitchen drawer. I use it to assemble furniture, repair kids toys, tweek pocket knives, and quick fixes around the house. I also use it often enough outside of the house that I ordered another for my shop and truck. All the components are welcome additions to my other 1/4" stuff. It isn't a do-all but it's nice to have. The discontinued gearwrench set is my go to but the components of this augment it well.
