You can't eat those, though, or put them in your mouth

How much are the presses where you can make them yourself with old credit cards?

$15-$30 depending on quality. I think the bigger issue is credit card material doesn't really hold up, you only get a single thickness (0.7mm or so), and the punch only makes a single sized pick.

Unless you're losing picks like crazy, you'd likely be better off just buying a bunch of cheap celluloid picks for $4-$5, or just buy decent quality picks in the shape/size/material you prefer and call it a day. They'll hold up much better and likely feel better as well.

I personally think the $5 D'Addario Jazz III sized "Black Ice" are the best of these $5 pick deals if you like a thicker pick and the jazz shape. Dunlop Jazz IIIs are usually $0.50-$0.75 a piece depending on material, but these end up being $0.20/ea. "Duralin" is basically D'Addario's version of Tortex so they are very comparable to a Tortex purple: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E9SX0SS
