This 75 inch Hisense U65QF stands out as a strong value mini LED TV with fast Fire TV software and easy input switching. The picture is described as a clear upgrade over a plasma, and the set can power on to the last input or switch ports by voice or with a streaming stick remote. The main knocks are weaker blacks and contrast than higher end sets, edge lighting that can be distracting, and VRR that only drops to 48 hertz. A solid budget minded big screen if those tradeoffs are acceptable.

  • The TV can be configured to turn on to the last input used after power cycling.

  • The TV can switch to the streaming stick input when the stick's Home button is pressed.

  • Voice control can switch HDMI inputs without touching the TV, using an Alexa device.

  • The Fire TV interface can feel much faster than Google TV OS in a mixed-family-room setup.

  • The onboard Fire TV can be extremely slow, which may require using an external Apple TV instead.

  • The VRR range reportedly only goes down to 48Hz, which can be a concern for games with frequently dropping frame rates.

  • Edge lighting can be distracting for some viewing experiences.

  • Picture performance can involve weaker blacks and contrast compared with a plasma display.

This seems to go head to head well with the tcl Qm6k. I'm only waiting for Costco to price match down (Amazon and now BB) and I'll pick this up.

The only thing you'll be happy with after plasma is OLED.

Bound to happen eventually to all televisions. Maybe failing power supply, or simply a cold solder joint, hate to see the good ones die.

You can set it to use the last port when you turn it off.
