Whoever scored the Gretsch SYNCHROMATIC NASHVILLE Hollow Body with Bigsby (Cadillac Green) for $779.99 got a real beauty and a great deal.
Gretsch started out developing a huge reputation as "country guitars" but they're really awesome for other genres, and distortion really makes them sing.
I've been all about Strats and SGs for years and years. My Gretsch is now by far my favorite guitar. I bought it for rockabilly and punk but it's so much more versatile than I ever hoped.

I was at my local music shop last month playing around on guitars. I had never played a Gretsch before (no idea why) and decided to give some of them a whirl. To my surprise I really like them. They were easy to play, sounded great and felt very solid. Even the cheaper ones impressed me. I obviously have no idea about the long term build quality on these but nothing about them felt cheap to me. Out of all the guitars I played that day the Gretsch guitars were my favorite.

I bought one on a previous Adorama deal for like $279 and sold it. Miss it. Inflation is making these more expensive LOL

Just checked, March 2024 these were $276.16. So I guess $100 markup over 2yrs isn't terrible. But this isn't a $400 guitar LOL
I got the same deal in 2024 on Adorama 2655, and I love as my main guitar (I'm just a beginner, at 63). I love that I can play it unplugged for low volume nighttime practice.

You guys are KILLING my credit cards. These 40% FPA deals are insanely good. I ordered one of the G2622T's w/ Bigsby for $390.

I bought one of the Electromatic Jets with black top pick-ups during their last sale for the same reason as you (rockabilly) and I was struck with the versatility too. It has basically shelved my Fenders. I can do it all with the one Gretsch.

You are in NYC I assume, go to the Music Zoo and pick this up before someone grabs it.

It is regularly twice that, and while it is used, you are buying from a store that will have at least done a basic setup for you. These are pretty nice and have a fishman pickup.
What's your opinion on this?

tested a few out at gc, liked the non tremolo versions, but the bigsby is iconic, regardless I never need a whammy bar, tremolo bar. I don't love how each is hit or miss with rough edges frets while some were awesome, I didn't love how knobs were loose in the wood holes they're screwed into. Common? googled a bunch of terms, seems mostly commercial. is it possibly the same quality as AliExpress or it's a better Chinese product 😂😎🙏

how's it feel and sound? I've been trying them at gc. the tremolo neck is smooth on some and frets are rougher hit or miss
