Do you think they still even work, or was someone just like, "Oh, well crap, this one went dark. Good thing Amazon has that amazing 4-year return policy."
I had a few KASA bulb, they are good. When I was in apartment I can only use floor lamp, the power is always put to on, and I just call Alexa to turn on/off the light, or schudle them on at certain time. Now I still have those bulbs but do not really use them as smart bulb.

I could be wrong, but I'd bet these are new. Amazon often uses the term "used" loosely, as a way of setting buyer expectations. My guess is a new case or pallet of these had a mishap (forklift event or left outside overnight) and some packages are less than perfect. Note the condition description, "Looks and functions as if it were new. Item will come in original packaging." It's also possible these are merely overstock.

You're talking about Amazon before enshittification last couple years. Lately anything off resale is absolute garbage condition or straight up broken maked as like new
