I just use the free version of Malwarebytes when needed.
Win 11 built in virus scanner works fine for me

I've been using TaxAct for years, and this year there were no deals. Literally did my taxes past weekend and paid ~$130 (federal + state).
Malwarebytes Premium is my current security software of choice (past ~4 years)...lightweight, and very effective.

Anyone here used H&R's tax software before? I've always used TurboTax but am willing to switch if its just as good. And I've been using Malwarebytes for around 10 years so reco this as well.

I've used TurboTax and H&R Block as well as FreetaxUSA. For the most part, all of them will get the job done. I think you will find that the problem with switching between them is not that one will be deficient, but that the flow will look different to you and that might slow you down a bit. As I've used H&R more, I find it easier to use. However, it did not prompt me to enter some things that TurboTax did. The forms were there, but I needed to know to start the interview whereas TurboTax just made me go through it. This year, perhaps since I started earlier, I noticed bugs in the H&R Block software. Some earlier patches changed my return. Others remained with incorrect numbers on emitted on some forms, but the later calculations fix the sums meaning that the bugs didn't change the end numbers. H&R Block also will not import anything from Bank of America or any of their companies (Merrill) this year, but TurboTax apparently still does. For these reasons, I found H&R more frustrating this year.
Perhaps my opinion was swayed with the increased cost (until this deal), this year and last year. Last year I went to FreetaxUSA and was surprised on how well it did. My apprehension has always been storing my data online, but then I learned that if you e-file, both H&R and Intuit save your return online for 5 years too, so either way you have to worry about data breaches. I only went back to H&R this year because I needed to get an early jump on my taxes at a place that wouldn't have dependable internet service.

I have a spare H&R Bock code if someone wants to get it 50% off this price. Its Deluxe + State

I had trouble with registration and H&R emailed me a second code. Both are registered in my name but that should not be a problem I suppose. I have not used either one of them yet but I think they registered both codes in my name.

For the record I had paid $23.99 for my copy so I am only trying to recoup some of the money.
