This model in particular has a varying bill of materials, which can include either TLC or QLC sourced NAND modules.

A good deal in the current market, depending on your needs and application.

Probably QLC and no DRAM. Few SSDs seem to have DRAM these days, and not anywhere near this price.

It may be that it's better to keep the drive from approaching capacity to avoid QLC issues, if this reddit thread is correct:
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc...y_good_or/

Point of reference, I recently got a 500GB WD SN7100 at $130 (TLC, no DRAM) and thought that was a good deal (right now, when it's hard to find anything in stock and prices seem crazy). For my use, I wanted the longer life of TLC. Though the total bytes on this larger 1TB might have been fine. That 500GB drive has a Total Bytes Written (aka endurance) spec of 300TB. Kingston lists the 1TB TBW as 320TB.

I'm no expert - but IMO if don't fill it up then many of the issues with QLC (lower total write, speeds when it fills) can be mitigated. If you have another drive you store your files on (two physical drives in the system), even better. See the reddit link.

But read some of this to see if it is relevant to your use:

I brought a ASUS Vivobook 14 Laptop (X1404VA-V14.I3812). Is this a good replacement to upgrade the 128GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 Solid State Drive?
