Honestly, if you're holding out for optical, go big and get a UHD BD drive...in a few decades, when people don't even know what these shiny plastic discs are, is anyone going to ask if this drive can read that disc or not?

Still have a Gateway tower that runs and has both floppy & cd drive.... once in a blue moon I find the need to boot it up to run an old program or read a floppy disc 🤣😂🤣

I bought a floppy drive for each of my computers thinking theyre going to be around for decades..... still got all 8 of them today.....though some of them are starting not booting up...... turns out a lot of manufacturers used bad capacitors in the 00s and 10s and these MB are just ticking time bombs

What is this used for in 2026? I do still have my original copies of Diablo and Starcraft so maybe that is the way.
