It's been weeks since I've seen a new refrigerant cycle explainer...

Looks like a good deal. I just put in a 65 gallon Rheem ProTerra for about $1800 from Home Depot last year. The price of that looks to be $2200 currently. For the price difference, this is a steal assuming the quality is decent.

I do not have a Menards in my state and the delivery fee is $484 which is high. Did anyone order with the delivery option?

It's still cheaper than Home Depot.

I installed same model replacing a 40 gallon electric. Easy swap. Very nice it adds some cold air and dehumidifies the utility room it is in. Happy with it so far.

I considered this too, but the risk that you get a unit damaged in shipping or that you need to return for whatever reason (defective unit) probably isn't worth the savings.

To be honest the "Wifi" caught my attention..."Built-in EcoNet Wi-Fi technology allows you to manage hot water and track energy usage".

Smoking deal, heat pumps are somehow more than 100% efficient. Also check for local, state and federal rebates. Some of the energy stuff for homes in still available from the Feds.

This is an excellent water heater. I installed one in November and I love it for SWFL garage. The installation was straight forward and this is my first installation. I set it only in heat pump mode. It uses 2KW per day and the most I used was 5KW when I had guests over. I do loads of laundry every day. I paid $1500 for the heater alone before energy rebates expired last year.

Since they are not creating heat and they are just moving you just have to overcome the force of friction in the heat pump. As PurpleKitten said this make the room colder. That is great in the summer as its essentially free ac and a detriment in the winter as your home heat has to warm your house more. Overall though this is still way more efficient than a standard water heater.

For a more detailed explanation check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J52mDjZzto as RobotNinja said.

Its actually pretty helpful, and i believe there are some home automation apps which integrate with it to pull usage data and control. If wifi is a turn off, you can disable it in the settings on the local control panel on the unit.

Depending on where your water heater is located in your house, this unit also provides the benefit of functioning as a dehumidifier and 4000BTU air conditioner as it acts as a heat pump.

Please, advice. Do i have to do any maintenance for the water heater? I just replaced a water heater after slightly more than 12 years. The Technician told me i better drain the water once a year.

Nothing crazy. You should drain it once I year and it will tell you when to clean the filter.
