My only issue with this shave cream is that it has a short shelf life before it starts having a rancid smell.

I definitely don't find that to be the case. I usually buy a year supply and have never noticed any smell.

coming from Edge gel, this stuff suuuuuucccks. It doesn't really lather till it does and when it does it DOES and you have a hell of a time washing it off. Not a fan.

I had the coupon on two of the scents, and bought one of them. I've used the coupon on the others before. It's my favorite shaving cream.

It's a cream. It does not lather. You only need a small amount; the instructions are clearly printed on the tube.

Feel free to read reviews on Amazon. There are others who mention the rancid smell.

It's not supposed to foam, it's a slick cream so that the blade slides across the surface

None of those reviews are saying the scent turned rancid due to the product's short shelf life, which is what you claimed.
They are merely describing the scent as rancid because they personally do not like it.
