Good info, but you're not eating directly off the cover. It's just a cover.

It's worthless. It is not tall enough and will touch your food. I have one and never use it.

Under measurements it states it's 10.6" W by 10.6" L. Seems it has plenty of room & height for whatever you're preparing unless you're planning on cooking a full-size turkey in your microwave oven. Also, I believe it's washable so if your food does happen to touch the top suds it up & then you'll be all set.
