That was my first thought too, lol, even though gear and knob based can opening is pretty cheap and lightweight it still fascinated me when an old army retiree showed me how to use a p38 opener back when i was a kid.
I feel like the 'have a bunch of cans but no opener' problem the p38 was trying to solve was fairly unique to wartime, which really tells the story better to 'kids these days'
