Plug it into the USB port normally used for wired CarPlay. It creates a wireless bridge between itself and your phone. It only works in car that have wired CarPlay or android auto.

Yes but I have recently found that these cheapos cannot keep up with the data rate of an intended USBC interface. It will studder, error, disconnect. Just like a lower quality USBC cable will. In fact, I cannot get any USBA wireless adapter to work consistently, with or without a USBC adapter added, with my wife's Bose head unit in her new car. All work in my 3 year old JBL Toyota perfectly.

The $70-$100 ones have a decent processor in them and usually perform better. These cheap ones are sluggish and buggy and disconnect randomly or overheat so that you end up tossing it after getting frustrated with it. Beware.

This is the best time to roll the dice if these cheapos works out for you.

You could be lucky to get one that works. Worst case, toss it then find the deal for $40-$100 ones with $10 coupon on it.

Thank you for he explanation. I almost bought this for my old azz jeep with no carpet or android auto thinking that it just put it on the screen somehow.
