This looks very much like the form factor of the one that was on sale for $10 last week

I have that and it's great, although I will note that it's not quite long enough to fit into the recessed USB-A port in my Honda without an extension or a short cable. I actually paired it with a simple A/B USB switch so I can do wired when I want to but it mostly is wireless.

Is this the one you're talking about from last week? And link to the A/B USB switch please?

I tried it, it felt heavy and solid but I ended up returning it. It repeatedly disconnected from my iPhone, although it worked fine on a Google Pixel.

Are there any of these that can easily toggle between 2 phones ?

I have a cheapo one that works fine, but its a hassle to have to manually reconnect (via bluetooth) every time after my wife drives and connects her phone. We only have 1 car.

First world problem, i know Smilie

Why not buy two of them and use the ab switch I linked below. Each of you could link with one of them and you could just push the button to swap.

first thought on the "why not" would be that you are talking about triple the price of the original at that point. Regardless, your ingenuity is impressive and I personally would totally do that if I had the need myself.

Yes but I have recently found that these cheapos cannot keep up with the data rate of an intended USBC interface. It will studder, error, disconnect. Just like a lower quality USBC cable will. In fact, I cannot get any USBA wireless adapter to work consistently, with or without a USBC adapter added, with my wife's Bose head unit in her new car. All work in my 3 year old JBL Toyota perfectly.
Odd question -- any chance in your wife's car, one of the speakers is fairly physically close to where the USB port is?

Carlinkit was unfortunately as bad as the cheap ones for me. I'd say buy this and try it with Amazon's return policy, then bump up if needed

Thanks for your response! Certainly something I have thought about -- but just feel like there should be a cleaner way, with lesser things 'hanging' down there.

Thanks again, though!

Will this work on a 2017 Nissan Maxima SV?
