I just paid $540 from the last deal and I absolutely love it. For the price the performance is great. Screen needs some tweaking with the color settings otherwise that's really my main complaint!

I agree 100% with your comment, fantastic laptop and does mid range gaming fairly well as well as handles every bit of Switch emulation I've thrown at it.

And the screen was indeed super washed out by the default settings, another SD user suggested messing with settings (I think mostly saturation is what he suggested) which made a huge difference. Before it looked like a washed out LCD in the sun but now look similar to my prior OLED Lenovo.

Can you, and @patrioticarab please share your display settings? Thanks in advance.

Within Intel's 'command center' I have a custom profile setup under the "color" tab
-brightness enhancement for "all colors" set at 38
-contrast enhancement "all colors) 17
-Hue 0 (default)
-Saturation bumped up to 70 (I believe the other user who recommended similar settings to me had their Saturation set to 80 or more but that looked way too aggressive on my machine)

At the crazy prices for SSD/Memory at this point this is practically by the memory and storage and get the laptop for free. I've got the lower speced ultra 5 16gb model and it's been great other than the screen as mentioned. For me it's not so bad I can't use it but it is a weak point.

I get a good 16+ hours with it. Granted I do light work, but let's say at full load I get half of that it's still very solid!

Which one did you buy? Ultra 5 or 7? I'm interested in the emulation ability that you mentioned. The Ultra 7 isn't in stock, and I'm hoping your comment is about the 5. Thx

I purchased the Ultra 7.

LOL..not actually but..long story but I technically purchased the Ultra 5 however received (and expected to receive) the 7 since Acer's listing (at the time) incorrectly listed this config as a Ultra 5 with 32GB however the U5 cannot have 32GB so had to be the U7 based on that and a few other telltells suggesting it wasn't the 5.

IMO you should wait for the U7 with 32GB to go back in stock (comes back often). I think the faster CPU and additional ram both are well worth the money and make a big (likely) difference in emulation.

P.S. The only thing that annoys me about this laptop is the lack of SD card reader.

How about the heat and fan noise on the Ultra 7 model?
