Good deal, but out of all of my Ego gear, I do not like this equipment.
It is convenient for a quick car wash/spray, but for a patio or whole house pressure wash it just isn't nearly as powerful as my 3200 PSI gas model and on the highest power it chews through the batteries. My 1st one was defective with an outlet housing that leaked/sprayed a ton. Replacement was fine.

I hate to say it, but the biggest win on this unit for me was the 2 extra batteries for the rest of my Ego gear. (Chainsaw, blower, mower, trimmer, etc)

I do see it having a nice benefit for campgrounds or other remote uses since you can use a bucket of water as a source when you don't have a hose hookup.

1.2 GPM is laughable.

Seems kinda silly at this price range. You're going to be running a hose anyway. Either save with plug-in or increase effectiveness with gas.

No, it is a bad pressure washer. Buy this for the batteries for other, better, equipment EGO sell. This would at least be passable with the ability to either run batteries OR an extension cord, but without even that, you're buying a very low GPM with a very short runtime.

I want electric everything honestly. But the 2 things that I feel like aren't quite there yet are snow blowers and power washers. It's the only 2 things in my household that haven't been moved to electric and I feel like it may be a while until they are. The raw power and running time on them is still better than electric versions.

What is the runtime with the 2 batteries? Trying to get away from gas. But if runtime can't last long enough for a driveway and sidewalks, might skip on it

I'd argue the snow blowers are actually there. I run an Ego 2 stage in MA, and it handled our record snow on a 4 car driveway well. The runtime was only an issue for me because I was cycling 5 year old 7.5Ah batteries (upgrading to a 10Ah bundle this year). You're spot on about power washers, though if you have to be tethered to a water hose, going cordless makes zero sense.

Electricit blowers are fine for normal amounts of snow and bad for blizzards

I'm going to try being nuanced: battery snowblowers are "there" in terms of raw power/throughput but are not there in terms of cost.

Meaning that two-stage electric snowblower can do everything you'd ask of it, including the end-of-driveway plow buildup. The issue isn't with performance and hasn't been in years. The issue is, that instead of batteries coming down in price, they've been consistently increasing in price. EGO have actually been shrinking the batteries included with their snowblowers, with some now shipping with 7.5 Ah or even 6 Ah.

To get specific, you can walk out with a good residential two-stage gas snowblower for under $1K that will do your entire property in one-shot. If you want the same from an EGO two-stage (i.e. swap batteries, but no mandatory recharge mid-flow), you're looking at 2x 10 Ah batteries and the two-stage EGO snowblower, which means you're easily pushing $2K closer to $2.2K.

Plus of course batteries are a consumable item (every 5-7~ years), and a darn expensive one for 2x 10 Ah or 2x 12 Ah. Even with gas, oil, and spark plugs, you're going to be underwater.

The GPM kills it, but I would see the value just for not having to deal with carborator maintenance. I use my Simpson maybe two or three times a year and have to take the damn thing apart and service it after each use or it won't start the next time.

The convenience of just firing it up and getting a quarter of my driveway done before the batteries drain, even if it took me 4 Sunday's, would be amazing. If these ever get up to 2.5 GPM like my Simpson, I'll be all over this.

I think most would agree with you. The issue this specific electric one has is that it combines two bad things together:
  • Slow (low GPM)
  • Battery only (no extension cord option)
I think having batteries is a virtue, but some tasks are just too big for battery only, and the low GPM will only worsen that. So you're signing up to be frustrated, set up the water hose, get in position, run for a few minutes, 60-minute recharge, run for a few minutes, 60-minute recharge, etc. If this just had an optional plug on top of the batteries, then the battery feature is just a bonus thing and not an Achilles heel.

My dad bought this last year because he loves his EGO tools...thought this would let him put away the gas power washer. Not a chance. This thing sucks - basically the same pressure you get out of those garden hose "high pressure" nozzles for $20. And it has no coverage - either you get a hard straight line with the narrow nozzle, or you get a wider spray that won't clean off anything.

Stick with gas for power washers. This one is an easy PASS.

it is a bad pressure washer, it run through the batteries and won't have enough power. I rather stick with my gas one or the one with extension cord. Even this offered (2)6ah batteries with this price is still high.
