Not a terrible price for just the battery, but the best value is to buy a tool that comes with at least a 5.0 battery or better. combos are more cost effective. Standalone battery purchase is expensive. But if you just want the battery, this is a solid deal. EGO branded batteries have all been good for me these last few years. No oil, no gas, no mess. Just charge and go.

As above poster says, it pretty much never makes sense to buy these standalone. For instance, right now Acme has the 765 cfm blower for $329, with the 5ah battery& charger, plus an additional 2.5ah battery thrown in. That's a lot more for $110 extra. https://www.acmetools.com/ego-pow...14161.html

What's the best way to keep these batteries healthy over the winter? I have three and none of them are in good shape.

Use them from time to time, don't let it sit with no charge, keep it safe in room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Also, don't drop your battery.

Deals dead. You can get the new tabless batteries on Amazon for $226 w/ charger, so about the same as this was.

On the tool deal: is that the newer tabless batteries or the old ones? The new tabless batteries are significantly better in every way: much lower heat, longer life, order of magnitude more charge cycles, etc.

Wish I had tried mowing my yard before this deal died. Just went to mow and the battery didn't last the whole yard. I guess I'll just get it off amazon since the price difference isn't too bad.
