For the money this looks like it hits way above it's price class. Getting 300 nits of brightness in a sub $100 monitor with decent other stats is hard to find in my experience.

I presume you're saying that due to real estate, rather than fidelity. An ideal monitor for work productivity would have a 16:10 ratio (e.g. FHD+ 1920x1200). That said, 24" is the max size you'd want FHD (1920x1080) for given pixelation. This would be good for work use as it has 300 nits brightness, which is decent for reading documents.

A 16:10 screen will be physically taller relative to the sides of a 16:9 monitor. That translates into being able to see m more of a document on screen, for example, without having to scroll down to read it. It gives it an appearance of having a bigger screen. Once I experienced 16:10 I fell in love. Even though I have a 16:9 27" gaming monitor connected to my laptop, I often go back to my laptop's built-in 16:10 16" screen just so I can read documents more easily for work.

The x-axis pixels would be the same, so you'll get thicker black bars on the top and bottom of a "widescreen" video, so you do lose some immersion, but ... not a biggie. For gaming, a 16:10 is advantageous.
