You can save yourself a fortune if you follow this tip: Buy the cheapest liquid soap you can find (soap, body wash, even shampoo), mix up to 1 part soap with 4 parts water (or any ratio to your preference) and use any refillable dispenser with a FOAMING SOAP PUMP. (Preferably distilled water, which can be purchased quite cheaply.) The most bang for the buck in terms of liquid soap I've found are body wash sale prices. 90% of the time the top ingredients will be water (eau) and sodium lauryl sulfate, but some have other top ingredients that allegedly make it more gentle to the skin.

It's never quite the same. Always either too loose and watery or too thick to work right. I think the pre-made stuff has some kind of stabilizer added
