Tempting, the old 2 AA model worked pretty well other than it would just die without warning when the batteries ran out sometimes. This appears to be a lifetime battery version based on the description. While there are a lot of "doesn't work with smartthings" reviews there are several "does work" reviews. Think I'll take a shot and hope it works since my OGs died recently and are my CO detection.

For anyone not wanting the Ring version, you can get a 3-pack for the same price.

Not really the same market.

Inflation definitely taking a bite. In my email I see notifications of the same product (First Alert Zwave smoke/co) for $80 from Costco for a 3-pack.

I have only used these for remote locations where I did not have a pre-wired smoke alarm that I may have wanted one. Otherwise better off adding a Zwave sensor to detect if your wired smoke detectors have triggered.

This is a pretty solid deal for a Z-Wave combo smoke/CO detector with a built-in 10-year battery. You're supposed to replace smoke detectors every 10 years anyway, so it kind of just makes sense.
The best part is not having to deal with that random low battery chirp in the middle of the night every few months. That alone makes it worth it.
I switched all mine over to the 10-year ones and wouldn't go back. If I hadn't just replaced mine, I'd definitely be on this.
