$20 less than October's Frontpage deal and matches previous lowest prices we've seen on SD.

Can anyone report back if this is nerfed up for Costco or legit? My blender just leaked all its oil and I need a new one.

Excellent price especially with free repairs free sh both ways for 10 years. It's quieter and more powerful than the 5200 for the same price. Works with 3" blade narrow base containers so no need to buy the 5200 just for that feature. Saw it in the warehouse yesterday for $300.

Plastic motor base internals whereas the 7500 which it replaces had a metal base under the hood but users are reporting comparable performance with a longer warranty.

Vitamix comprehensive warranty covers performance, all parts, including the container, labor, and two-way shipping ensuring free repairs or replacement for 10 years. Vitamix maintains factory owned regional service centers that get your restored unit back to you within 10 days.

Alta Pro uses classic containers so no need to deal with self-detect but works Ascent containers as well. Compatible with the classic 32 oz container for 1-2 servings not available with Ascent self-detect models.

No risk to take it for a test spin with the Costco satisfaction promise on top of the Vitamix warranty which also covers the container blade bearings and seals for 10 years.

Some users report a less premium "feel" than the 7500 but with equal performance. Just as powerful. 2.2 HP motor. Same advanced motor cooling and noise reduction introduced with the 7500. Same low profile 64 oz container but now dishwasher safe, Alta Pro adds presets for smoothies, soup and cleaning whereas the 7500 is strictly manual.

You can easily replace your worn out blade assembly which includes the bearing and seals which are leaking but the cost will be $80+ for o.e.m. and only a 1 yr warranty. The complete official 64 oz container is currently $170. The aftermarket blade and bearing assemblies are garbage. Previously only the "intro level" Explorian has been available at this price point.

Vitamix 15652 is the complete 32 oz container with wet blade and lid. It has just been 'retired' from the Vitamix Direct Online Store however it is still available while supplies last from authorized retailers and restaurant supply houses. This rubber lid classic container works with C, G, Propel series but not with Ascent or motor bases which require self-detect like Venturist.

Alta Pro does not require RFID self-detect clear lid containers as far as I can tell with no hands-on experience. Also, as usual with Vitamix, there is an abundance of disinformation online. I've learned not to waste time reading comparisons of Vitamix models. If I had any doubts after receiving the Alta Pro then I'd bring home my runner up model from Best Buy and do my own side by side comparison.

Is this a good upgrade if I have the CIA version without the speed control? Does it have more power? Sometimes I feel like the speed control would be nice instead of the hi/low setting.

What about the container difference? Is that important to you?

Check the bottom of your blender for the model number. It's likely VMO102. That's a 2 hp machine with a metal frame. Alta Pro is 2.2 HP plastic frame. But this alone does not make one blender. better than the other. It's all about what you blend and your personal satisfaction.

Compare the noise and vibration. Make shaved ice. Make kale juice and pour some out on a white plate.

There is no review which you can read or advice from another person that can substitute for your own experience. After you do that come back to the thread and tell us what you think about the Alta Pro and its container.

It's easy to sell your CIA model if you decide to keep the Alta Pro.

Thanks. In store it felt way more plasticky than mine. Looking more into it, what I need appears to be the 5200 - no automation and metal build, but with a speed knob. I set a deal alert for that one. Thanks for the advice.

The 5200 is way too loud for me. It's a clunky 20 year old pre-NexGen design with a lower power motor. Lacks a pulse switch. It does not have the noise deadening or the improved cooling of the 7500 or later models.. Personally I would choose a Venturist over a 5200 in spite of the self detect. The $180 metal frame Venturist deal this past winter was a best-ever Vitamix price. Vitamix says that they are out of stock but a senior tech in warranty dept might be able to find one. A metal frame is nice but the user experience and the warranty is more important to me. Most of the cost of the 5200 is in the tall 64 oz container. I would try other container options before committing to it.
EDIT: Today, QVC has the Venturist Pro new not reconditioned for $315. Ten year warranty. Choice of colors. That's only $35 more than their lowest ever price. 30 trial with free returns.

TU for all the info!
So the 7500 had less warranty than this? I was iffy with the plastic base, hence my question, but still the same under the hood right?
TIA

You're welcome, thank you for repping. Up until recently only flagship models had 10 yr but it has always been inexpensive and wise to add +3 yrs directly from Vitamix. Buy two models and compare at home yourself. Free sh and free returns at both Costco and Vitamix. Choice of container should be the top priority. For RFID bases 48 oz cleat top is best for most. Non-RFID bases accept all containers bu pp say that they prefer duggerkis
