Vitamix comprehensive warranty covers performance, all parts, including the container, labor, and two-way shipping ensuring free repairs or replacement for 10 years. Vitamix maintains factory owned regional service centers that get your restored unit back to you within 10 days.
Alta Pro uses classic containers so no need to deal with self-detect but works Ascent containers as well. Compatible with the classic 32 oz container for 1-2 servings not available with Ascent self-detect models.
Some users report a less premium "feel" than the 7500 but with equal performance. Just as powerful. 2.2 HP motor. Same advanced motor cooling and noise reduction introduced with the 7500. Same low profile 64 oz container but now dishwasher safe, Alta Pro adds presets for smoothies, soup and cleaning whereas the 7500 is strictly manual.
You can easily replace your worn out blade assembly which includes the bearing and seals which are leaking but the cost will be $80+ for o.e.m. and only a 1 yr warranty. The complete official 64 oz container is currently $170. The aftermarket blade and bearing assemblies are garbage. Previously only the "intro level" Explorian has been available at this price point.
Alta Pro does not require RFID self-detect clear lid containers as far as I can tell with no hands-on experience. Also, as usual with Vitamix, there is an abundance of disinformation online. I've learned not to waste time reading comparisons of Vitamix models. If I had any doubts after receiving the Alta Pro then I'd bring home my runner up model from Best Buy and do my own side by side comparison.
Check the bottom of your blender for the model number. It's likely VMO102. That's a 2 hp machine with a metal frame. Alta Pro is 2.2 HP plastic frame. But this alone does not make one blender. better than the other. It's all about what you blend and your personal satisfaction.
Compare the noise and vibration. Make shaved ice. Make kale juice and pour some out on a white plate.
There is no review which you can read or advice from another person that can substitute for your own experience. After you do that come back to the thread and tell us what you think about the Alta Pro and its container.
It's easy to sell your CIA model if you decide to keep the Alta Pro.

EDIT: Today, QVC has the Venturist Pro new not reconditioned for $315. Ten year warranty. Choice of colors. That's only $35 more than their lowest ever price. 30 trial with free returns.
Plastic motor base internals whereas the 7500 which it replaces had a metal base under the hood but users are reporting comparable performance with a longer warranty.

No risk to take it for a test spin with the Costco satisfaction promise on top of the Vitamix warranty which also covers the container blade bearings and seals for 10 years.

So the 7500 had less warranty than this? I was iffy with the plastic base, hence my question, but still the same under the hood right?
TIA
