An 83C5 is arguably better. The 83G3 doesn't have MLA

Seen 83" G5 on here for $3100 to give some context. I think that is worth it more than this older panel.

Last three high end Samsungs I've had were "refurbished" with an extended warranty.... 12, 7, and 5 years ago all going strong.

Oled is a bit different, but I also just got this a couple weeks back with a 5 year warranty for $2300 from Costco. That being said, a decent couple year warranty that actually holds some utility - I would have pulled the trigger on this.

TV is bad ass.

I still have an OLED from 2016 that's still up and running. The old E6 series with 3D! No heat sink, no anti burn-in tech… still works great and still no noticeable burn-in. I'll never part with it because the 3D looks peak.

I went with a Sony 3d TV from 2016 for 3d. I'm sure oled looks better, but I wanted passive glasses and an IPS screen. I'm glad to see someone else enjoying 3d. I also use it for 3d emulation like 3ds and virtual boy. Works great, but you are limited to 1080p.

Nice! How does 3DS 3D look on a tv screen? The LG E6 is passive 3D. As long as you're within a 30 degree viewing angle, there's minimal ghosting and the pop out is amazing.

I did 5 years ago on a LG 77" OLED. Back then OLEDs was really expensive and $2k used was a good deal. Now I'm waiting for the 98-100" for $2K used.

$2K for a refurb is a bit much, especially with newer models at similar prices. But if you're okay with refurb, it's still a good deal for an OLED.

It looks great. I think other emulators support 3d too like PPSSPP and maybe dolphin. I can't remember off the top of my head. Ps3 also natively supports 3d on some games. I've tried a few ways to play 3d including the meta quest iii which I don't like a box hanging off my face. Rayneo air pro 3s glasses which is nice, but it's a bit fidgety because I wear prescription glasses. It also doesn't support frame pack so it needs to be SBS. I haven't tried projector 3d which will almost certainly be active glasses. TV 3d is probably the best experience I've had. I still keep an eye on used private sale sites for another xbr65x900c.

I dropped ~$1300 for refurbished 65" LG C1 several years ago, it came repackaged with replaced OLED panel with 0 hours on it. Still works fine, no issues. Very happy with my purchase. I wish I had a place to put 83" TV, I would buy this for sure.

I used to be in the electronic business and you'll be surprise how you can luck out at times and a great deal on barely used items.
The other side of the coin is that sometimes you'll get a discount but on a store display that has been manhandled worse than a Kardashian at a NBA half-time..

*and even them... some slick individuals have purchased warranties and had the entire OLED panel replaced!!!
