These are refillable wherever you can refill 20Lb tanks (many gas stations, Uhauls etc.).

I think the idea is its more portable than a 20Lb tanks, and reusable unlike a 1Lb tank.

Also FWIW, refilling propane tanks is usually substantially cheaper than doing the exchanges. Also the exchanges do things like only filling the tanks to 15Lbs (technically 75% capacity) to make the price seem closer than it is.

These are an excellent alternative to the 1lb bottles.

The 10 pound tank is roughly 67 dollars if you prefer larger tank. Edit* various sizes of these tanks are on sale now.

Have these and excellent for out camping trips. Enough gas for 2-3 day trip for a family of 4 and sure beats rugging around 1 lb cans and paying 5 bux a can. I also have 10lb can for longer trips

What's the benefit of getting this/these versus simply buying a tank from a Blue Rhino (or similar) dispensing machine? Walmart (and many gas stations and other retailers) sells a filled 20lb tank for $54.99, and refills for $20. Where are we to go to get these smaller 5lb tanks refilled? Seems to be more hassle and expense for a smaller tank?

Too bad the 5 LB costs more than a 20 LB.

I bought this last June for $56.43, so it's a marginally better price. It's pretty convenient for overland camping where a 20lb is too big.

Blue rhinos aren't full. Also a 20# thank you own is only $15 or less to fill. These cost like $4 to fill at tractor supply or any other refill place, they are everywhere.

Noob question. Where can I fill this in SGV/OC/IE (SoCal)? I know some companies run the 20# exchange program, but many places don't fill 5#. Flame King has a DIY kit that you refill with a 20#, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Thanks!
