Supposedly this was Tom Petty's favorite coffee. It's mine as well. Plus, I have a telecaster.

I think it might be the Telecaster that's making the Maxwell House taste good - some kind of Fender voodoo magic! Wink

Decent price for somewhat underwhelming coffee.

$4.34/lb 5% S&S
$3.85/lb 15% S&S

I'd buy some but I'm working on using up my Folgers Black Silk that expires in June. BTW, I prefer the Black Silk over this Maxwell House - about the same bitterness but has more flavor.

Ever since I switched to black coffee I am using way less coffee now. I really notice the bitterness now and have to make it weaker so it still tastes good. Saves me money and cuts down on my caffeine intake. Maybe I'll try using better coffee since I'm using less.
Cool story

What do you mean by "expires"?

Bitterness can come from over extraction- not using enough coffee for the amount of water. Try using more coffee (like a lot more) and then add hot water after it's brewed, can work wonders with cheap canned coffee. Don't worry about best by dates, that's all marketing hype. You think when the day arrives the coffee magically goes bad?

Considering the cost of coffee has been skyrocketing this isn't a bad deal. Costco's 43.5oz is $19.79, close to twice as expensive for similarly crappy coffee. In for one.
