Wish they'd run a deal on the 4K set. Dag, it's too pricey. Good deal on the Blu though.

Barely watchable. New treks are horrible. Academy is trash, discovery went off the deep end, and beyond 90% trash episode with 1-dimensional characters. Gonna have to go back watch tng, ds9 instead.

Seriously this. TNG, DS9 and to a lesser extent Voyager were the only watchable ones.

Strange New World probably the least of the new evils, but starfleet academy is such trash rofl. Don't even get me started on Section 41 movie. Star trek is officially dead.

Voyager was great, and Enterprise was also pretty good. The best of the new stuff was Prodigy, though. SNW has one decent season and one good season, and then the most recent season which was a dumpster fire.

To be fair we haven't watched season 3 yet but we loved seasons 1 and 2 of SNW. We won't even look at Academy as we can tell it's crappy.

Startrek Strange world is a must watch content in latest series online or offline disk, ideal price boxed set instead of episode by episode. All startreks are true masterpiece and collectible items.

Agreed on all points with all three of you guys here. NuTrek has been so god-awful... I was hopeful until Starfleet Academy... Jesus, I pirated it and I'm still considering demanding a refund from Paramount lol. With how bad it has been, and seemingly there is no intent to course-correct at this point, I finally bit the bullet and ordered TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT on Blu-ray/DVD. The packaging is terrible, but I picked up individual disc binders for each series which makes pulling a specific disc far easier and the upscaling on my 4K UHD player makes even DS9/VOY look decent in SD. And to be honest, I'd rather watch anything pre-Kurtzman on a flip phone in 144p than whatever they come up with next...

Yeah out of everything post-2005 I'd say Strange New Worlds is the most-watchable live action show (Not counting Picard S03, but of course they dumped Terry Matalas because he actually doesn't hate the source material eh.) I kinda liked S01, S02 was not as decent and S03 I thought was approaching DISCO-quality. Hopeful they can at least eak out a decent S04-05 to finish it off. Like many others have said, SNW mimics TOS in that most episodes are standalone and it has the occasional ridiculous plot lines... Problem being this show's seasons are only 10 episodes long, so having 8 ridiculous plot lines overpowers the entire season.
Honest to god, the least-worst Star Trek in the past 21 years I'd have to give to Lower Decks because, though it's a comedic animated version of Trek, the hardcore Trekkies can readily tell that at least some of that show's writers have watched all the real shows and movies and seem to not be hostile to the source material at least.

DS9 was so good. Wish I got to see the DS9 exhibit (Quark's bar) when it was n Las Vegas Westgate.

Lower Decks has a better handle on characters and character development- that's what set it apart for me. The memberberries-callbacks to legacy Trek minutia is just gravy atop of character journeys and competent story. I honestly struggle to remember character names in DSC and Picard, let alone care about them.
I'm really on the fence on SNW. Loved season 1, in with both hands and feet. Season 2 was okay- even with the musical number. But the comedy schtick went too far in S3. If S4 doesn't pick the ball back up- I'm bowing out.
The only way I'll buy 4KUHD S3, if it sells for $20.00.

I'm pretty much on the same exact page as you! Got the Lower Decks on Blu-ray and SNW S01-02 on 4K cheap last BF... But Season 3, not dipping at $50 for a teelbook.. I suppose for completion's sake, if S03 hits $20 on regular disc I'll pick it up next year... Hoping S04-05 pick it up as it started decently strong I thought. I'm using S01-02 of Picard as coasters now as I'd rather stare at the included drink coasters (in my Picard Legacy set) for their superior storyline lol. The Picard set was only $10 more than the regular TNG one last fall so why not for S03 of Picard I suppose.
