In it's present form, it's little more than a boo-boo kit. But that doesn't mean that it can't be a decent foundation for a more comprehensive kit with some judicious additions. But understand that things like the included pretend "tourniquet" are just silliness. It'll be completely useless for controlling arterial bleeding (hint: it's the same thing a phlobotomist uses when you get a blood draw for lab work - so it obviously doesn't stop blood flow so much as it allows it).

I plan on throwing one in each of our cars. I thought about getting a 3rd for my prep kit, but like you said, this thing is far from being complete so I got a more expensive kid. I still think it's a pretty good deal at $10 for two items.

Replacing your child seems a little extreme, and why wouldn't you get a cheaper one?
