Don't risk your engine by pushing it past the recommended change interval.Unwise. Additives deplete and base oils breakdown and wear/sludge/etc can rise suddenly outside the interval for the product. Trace metal analysis isn't the whole story.
If you're running an analysis annually, the risk is low. Problem is some don't run the analysis and just go by someone else with the same make and model.

Also you have to know the engine. I don't care what the UOA says on an Ecotec, Kia-Hyundai GDI, or L87. I know any contaminants can pull the timing chain. You do those every 3,000 miles with API SQ as thick as you can get away with. Check every country and variant of that engine and go with the thicker of the bunch.

Legal: Not responsible for your decisions on oil.

Thanks OP. Still my GOTO brand but change your oil very often. 5K max and 3K for turbos.
Use the correct Viscosity!
Toyota engineer and engine rebuilders are suggesting in hot climates and or HD service that you consider going up on the top number one level (after break in) but not the bottom number. Cold climates be careful.
3K? It's not 1975 anymore. Blackstone oil testing reports consistently state there is much usable life left on oil sent in at 5-8K miles.

Extended Performance rates itself at 20K and has more additives than Advanced Fuel Economy to achieve it. Pretty sure 10K is very safe...and easy on the maintenance schedule. My old euro car took 0W-40 and factory recommendation was 15K. Zero issues.

I do agree that the thinner oils are for MPG but are leading to engine wear.

Dang remember the deals used to be "deals" much better deals than nowadays. Only saving like possibly a dollar.../besides time traveling to the store or so. /:

These deals seem just average, no?

The everyday price for a jug of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-20, or Platinum 5W-30 Euro L, is ~$26 at WalMart.

I guess everyone needs a hobby, this guy's hobby is changing his oil every other 3000 miles 😆

This is the usual frontpage price for that. According to amazon I place this exact order about once a year around this time. Must be an annual sale they do.
