got a Ring to test the waters and it seems to be geared for subscription only, no SD card slot. So got another brand that includes SD slot to avoid subscription.
if u fine w/ subscriptions then can be a good option, app is nice

This is a great camera if you have a Ring account.

The outdoor ones are on sale as well. I don't have a subscription but I have a few Alexa echo devices throughout the home and when it detects motions near my front door it will alert me and show a live feed on the screen. Yes it wont record without a subscription but that's all I need in the free mode

I just got out of the Ring ecosystem. Their Super Bowl commercial really turned me off to them. I was a 7 year customer of theirs.
I switched to Aqara for their doorbell camera and indoor cameras. Vastly prefer their connection into Homekit

Stay away from Ring. Most of their features are locked behind a subscription, and their customer support has been a nightmare in my experience.

I spent over $1,000 on their "lifetime, no-subscription" cameras (now discontinued), which came with a 3-year warranty. One of them failed in under a year, and I've been dealing with support for nearly 6 months with no real resolution.

Instead of honoring the warranty and replacing the original $350 camera, they sent me a basic $50 model and told me I now need to subscribe, since they no longer offer the no-subscription option.

Really disappointing experience. I expected better support and accountability for a product at that price point.

Is that network feature enabled for the indoor cameras?

I don't know, but regardless ring has a strong history of turning over video footage to the police without a warrant. You should never assume any of your footage stored in their cloud is even remotely private.

Agree - that part of it sucks, but I will say the Ring app works better than the tp-link, eufy, reolink, and 4 other rando chinese cameras I have throughout the exterior of my property.
And at 1am when my alarm goes off and I want to see a camera, I dont' want to mess with a bungling app.
My always on ring cameras are outdoors, I have two indoors, powered by smart usb outlets that turn on and off with my home alarm system. This way indoor recording is only on when I'm sleeping, or away.

People still buying ring after the dog debacle? You can definitely buy a better indoor cam with local storage at this price point

We had a Ring doorbell camera that was nearly useless because we didn't subscribe, and I removed it after the security concerns were made public. I also threw out the 3 security cameras from them that I never installed because of subscription costs (and now security concerns).
