400A seems pretty low, though I would trust NOCO's claim of 400A of actual output to the no-name brands that claim 8000A or whatever.

Still, they say it will jump gas cars up to 4.0L, but at that size you're looking at batteries that are usually rated at 800CCA. How could this jump them? Not sure I'd ever get a jump starter rated for less than 1000A.

I went with the GB40 even tho my car is only 2.5L. I ended up using it twice on other people's vehicles before I needed it. You never know what size vehicle someone else may need help with. In my case, it was a mid size SUV and a pickup truck.

So GB40 was powerful enough to jump both the SUV and the pick up truck?

It's assuming that the battery isn't entirely discharged. I agree though, I use multiple NOCOs all day for my job, I'd go with at least the GB40 or, ideally, GB70.

yep. i think the truck probably had an alternator issue as it died while it was being driven so that battery was very drained. it still started it. not sure how far he got tho.
