This controller is based on the original Ultimate line, and has Hall Effects joystick.
If you're looking for a PC controller, the newer Ultimate 2 controllers include updated TMR joysticks (among other smaller improvements). They frequently go on sale, and are currently $59.99
This is still a fairly slick deal. The 8bitdo controllers with more complex designs (i.e. NOT a single color) go on sale far less often.
It's also a wireless controller that works with an XBOX. I haven't had an XBOX in two years, but at the time wireless 3rd party controllers were very hard to find. This controller is leagues better than the official one and around the same price. If you're looking for an XBOX controller specifically, this is as good as it gets for under a $100. In fact, I'd say this controller is at least competitive performance wise with "Pro" controllers reaching triple digits.
TL;DR- still a good deal, but helping folks be informed.
I think this is the first wireless controller from 8bitdo for the Xbox, correct? I've been waiting for this, but $56 is pretty steep for a sale price. I'm hoping this keeps dropping.
