Picked up Henckels Zwilling version of these late last year and have a few pairs of cheaper shears as well. For cutting new out of the box they all seem very similar and cut well, what I will say what stands out with this brand was that come apart which makes it much easier for washing after use and the cheaper ones seem to show some signs of rust if you don't clean and dry them right away gotta figure if that is worth the $8 difference. Bought this as a second pair.

These are extremely good scissors imo
I've had a pair for the last 20~ years, the handles have started to break off finally and I've superglued them back together and they still work fine but I'm picking up another pair at this price

I was gonna point this out. It's recommended that you get the detachable shears to ensure better cleaning.
that being said, does anyone know if these are able to be sharpened? The description mentioned something about micro serrations… so that implies that you can sharpen them with a steel, but not re-edge them. Does this sound right?

No, the HENCKELS Kitchen Shears do not come apart for cleaning. Multiple customers confirm they have a solid, one-piece construction with the hinge permanently attached.

I believe the grill scissors may be larger. This $12 pair of gold plated scissors looks extremely small blade wise.

PS - and note, I used a regular pair of scissors, only used for food, for 7-10 years before I bought these. I mean, I could get 3-4 gallons of gas for the price of $12, and bug out to a remote campsite 60 miles away where I don't have to read slickdeals "good price" posts for a whole weekend for this price.
