This is Sony's flagship mirrorless camera right now and normally goes for $7k. Secondipity is, to my understanding, Sony's "Official Refurbished" site. I've bought numerous items from them in the past with all being perfectly functional and in great shape. This is an advanced camera and a good opportunity to own one for less.

Absolutely...which is why I scored one ;-). I was looking at a Hasselblad X2Dii and as much as I wanted one I couldn't justify that price for a unit where the screen only flips and tilts on one axis (shoot a lot of low stuff in portrait orientation). Moved up from an A7R3.

yeah I have an a7iii and have used it for SD videos pretty heavily since 2019 [youtube.com] and it's really needing an upgrade. The sensor to auto-switch from the EVF to the screen on back no longer auto-switches and the LCD sometimes just doesn't work Smilie

They have the A1 mark 1 for $2999 "open box" which is a good deal too, a coupon to keep it under $3k I might have to justify it somehow lol... Never heard of this site but looks legit

Most say the Sony alpha 1 mark ii isn't much of an upgrade from the mark I.

For me the larger grip, articulating screen, and improved IBIS is worth it.

Secondipity is legit - I've bought through them on several occasions...in particular Sony cameras, headphones etc. Everything was in new condition.

The improved AI-assisted autofocus is also a significant feature.

For anyone curious, I got a 10% new customer code emailed to me and it worked on the a1mk1...$2799 shipped. It would probably work on the mkii as well

Definitely click on the little gift box in the lower left, and create an id for 10% off. Thats a pretty big chunk of change on $5000
