Based off the reviews, that doesn't seem like an issue with these speakers. JBL put a horn guide compression tweeter in these, and it rocks compared to the competition. A potential 10K setup for a really cheap price if one wanted the other pieces.

Yep, versus the Studio 698 which is a 3 way, and costs $750 right now on Amazon.

The HDI series were always slow to sell due at their hideously inflated retail pricing.

That's my point! So thousands of dollars for a speaker where they didn't even put a midrange and instead use the cheaper waveguide technique? That's my point. Not worth the money for something where they are squeezing out every penny. This no way feels worth the money. If JBL wants to sell a premium speaker and charge thousands they can afford to put a damn midrange in there that costs less than 5%

Have had these for a few years. Ive been very happy with these for combined 50/50 music/Home Theater in a large room. This is a pretty solid price and I dont think anything else in this sale price range would give the same value if you were looking to use these with mixed usage - music & HT and especially in a fairly large room.
Yes, they are much more than the Studio series...theyre also night and day different fidelity wise (and build quality wise).

I agree. They're just betting on people not discerning the difference in clarity. Guess it was worth simplifying the crossover and engineering time. I don't have a large space but I'm a whore for clarity/imaging so went with kali in8v2 (3 brand new in box for 450 no tax off marketplace, slick af)

Good call.

Based on the down votes on our posts questioning the price with no rebuttals and the constant 'i use them, I recommend, makes me think there is converted effort to push these.

Hopefully Slickdeals staff starts flagging these accounts. Otherwise the site will lose its credibility of genuine deals.

Unfortunately, sock-puppet shill accounts are a part of the online landscape.

Google "reputation management companies"---it's a whole industry. Probably more AI-bots these days than in the past.

To be fair SD doesn't dictate what is a genuine deal, it's defined on an individual bases especially when it comes to sound.
Adding a dollar amount makes that choice exponentially more complicated.

Anyone that argues their opinion is universally right, usually has an agenda imo.
There is no universal price-to-performance deal!

Sales hacks hate it when consumers start thinking about PRICE vs PERFORMANCE. Yep, it does make THEIR (the sale hack's) job a lot more complicated. Doh! 😆
